Leitmotiv

Leit-motiv: if the dictionary explain it like “a phrase or other feature that is repeated often in a work of art, literature, or music and that tells you something important about it” I explain it just like synonymous of colors, shapes, passion and creativity. I’m not going crazy and I haven’t got the presumption to replace myself with a dictionary, but these are the words who came in my mind every time I admire the creations of the Made in Italy brand called “Leitmotiv”.

Fabio Sasso and Juan Caro are the minds who in 2006, after frequenting both art and fashion worlds, begin their climb to the Fashion Olympus by taking part to projects like Fashion Incubator, Who Is On Next?, Talent Hub (whereby they collaborate even with brands like Furla and Borsalino) which created their bigger supporters going by the National Chambres of Fashion to the always careful to new talents Vogue Italy too. Accessories, dresses, everything takes a different life under their clutches thanks to indisputable tailoring skills, but the magic happen mainly thanks to the prints which characterize their works; not just flowers or giant faces, but fairytales, surrealist environments, characters, sceneries.

Art references are numerous and different, and the canvas is always full, different and funny.

Leit-motiv: se il Treccani lo spiega come “Tema, argomento, frase o formula che ricorre frequentemente in un’opera letteraria […], costituendone il motivo fondamentale”  io me lo spiego solamente come sinonimo di colori, forme, passione e creatività. Non sono impazzita e di certo non è mia la presunzione di sostituirmi al prestigioso Treccani, ma è ciò che mi balza alla mente ogni volta che ammiro le creazioni del brand Made in Italy “Leitmotiv”.

Fabio Sasso e Juan Caro sono le menti che nel 2006, dopo aver bazzicato tra il mondo dell’arte e quello della moda, iniziano la loro scalata verso l’olimpo  della moda partecipando a progetti come Fashion Incubator, Who Is On Next? , Talent Hub (grazie al quale  iniziano collaborazioni con brand come Furla e Borsalino) da cui nascono i maggiori sostenitori di questo progetto che vanno dalla stessa Camera Nazionale della Moda, al sempre attento ai nuovi talenti Vogue Italia.

Accessori, abiti, tutto prende una vita diversa sotto le loro grinfie grazie all’ indiscutibile capacità sartoriale, ma la magia accade soprattutto grazie alle stampe che caratterizzano i loro lavori; non semplici fiori o abnormi volti, ma favole, ambientazioni a tratti surreali, personaggi, paesaggi.

I riferimenti all’arte sono molteplici e differenti, e la tela è sempre piena, diversa e divertente.
